We open with "Problem Solving"
   ... where we work to solve a member’s problem.
   the February meeting discussion was very lively.
 
Next is "Speak Up"
   ... where each person has an opportunity to give a 30-second announcement, complaint, suggestion, commercial, anything as long as it’s no more than 30-seconds long.

The 15-minute refreshment break that follows provides an opportunity to network with people that speak "Landlording" as a second language.  We also have a 50-50 drawing to benefit a charity chosen by those assembled.

Presentations, (of not more than half hour each), are next.

The February meeting featured:  Jeanie Orr who presented "Smoke-Free Apartments" an initiative of the Smoke Free Coalition.  Several members are already implementing this win-win approach to tenant relations.

Our New Member Packet includes:
o  "Guide to Leases" - a guide that enables you to select variations on clauses to assemble your own  tailor made lease.  The Guide also tells how to obtain inexpensive credit reports and then use them to adjust your security deposits.

o   THE HUD Lead-paint brochure and abatement advise,
o  "Tenants Rights" brochure, and
o   our ByLaws.

A member can call our office and get answers or advice on any problem. Remember out motto: “Landlords Helping Landlords”.

The Annual Dinner Meeting January 24th featured Dr. Helen Desfosses, former president of the Albany Common Council and well-known TV and radio commentator who discussed the "Importance of Entrepreneurs to City’s Economy".
